Days of Azerbaijani Culture Begin in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 21.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Tajikistan officially began on May 20 at the Sadriddin Ayni Tajik State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in Dushanbe.
Tajikistan’s Minister of Culture, Matlubakhon Sattoriyon, highlighted that the event would significantly boost the friendship between the peoples of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan, expanding cultural and socio-economic ties and deepening mutual understanding.
Azerbaijani artists performed captivating songs, melodies, and dances. Cultural exchanges between the two countries have included programs for scientists, teachers, students, and cultural events.
Notably, Tajik classical music (Shashmaqom) and Azerbaijani Mugham, along with the similarities between Tajik Falak and Azerbaijani Ashiq, are key aspects of the cultural connection.
As part of the events, the official Azerbaijani delegation will visit Norak city’s Pomegranate Garden and Norak Hydroelectric Power Plant, the National Museum of Tajikistan, and other sites in Dushanbe.
Additionally, a concert by the Azerbaijani National Ensemble will take place in the Danghara District Culture Palace.
Today, a corner of Azerbaijani literature will be inaugurated at the National Library of Tajikistan, with a Memorandum of Understanding expected to be signed between the National Libraries of Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
