Tajikistan’s Healthcare Projects Presented at Islamic Development Bank Meeting

DUSHANBE, 26.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The annual meeting of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and its peripheral events under the “Life and Livelihoods Programme” (LLF) took place from May 19 to 23 in Algiers. The event featured participation and a keynote speech by Jamoliddin Abdullozoda, Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Tajikistan.
It was noted that Tajikistan successfully completed the project “Improvement of Maternal and Child Services in Four Districts of Khatlon Region” in cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank. Additionally, to implement government directives aimed at strengthening control over the import of substandard and counterfeit medicines and to promote domestic pharmaceutical production, a new project titled “Enhancement of Primary Healthcare through National Quality Control of Medicines and Food Products in the Republic of Tajikistan” has been developed.
It was added that all necessary conditions and opportunities have been created to develop and expand Tajikistan’s cooperation with the Islamic Development Bank in the healthcare sector. This collaboration is expected to further improve the quality and accessibility of medical services for the population.
