World Bank Mission Reviews Progress of Central Asia Regional Connectivity Program in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 17.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – A World Bank delegation has arrived in Dushanbe to assess the implementation of the Fourth Phase of the Central Asia Regional Links Program (CARs-4).
The mission officially launched its work on May 12 with an introductory meeting held at the Customs Service of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by Azim Tursunzoda, First Deputy Head of the Customs Service, senior customs officials, project coordinators, and the World Bank mission team headed by Abdul Hamid Khalili, Transport Specialist, and Satya Prasad Sahu, Senior Trade Facilitation Specialist.
The mission aims to support the effective execution of the CARs-4 program, improve transport infrastructure, and strengthen regional connectivity across Central Asia.
During the visit, the World Bank experts will carry out an in-depth review of the project’s current progress, including the implementation status of key components, financial management, and disbursement processes. The team will also evaluate performance indicators outlined in the project’s results matrix.
The World Bank mission is scheduled to continue its work in Tajikistan until May 23.
