DUSHANBE, 18.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The presentation of the Beijing–Dushanbe route took place on June 17 in Dushanbe, reports Khovar correspondent.
The launch of the “China Southern Airlines” flight on the Beijing–Dushanbe route will simplify travel between Tajikistan and China, strengthen trade and economic cooperation, and become an important step in developing transport connectivity between China and Central Asia.
Qu Guangji, Deputy General Director of China Southern Airlines Group, called the opening of the Dushanbe–Beijing route a strategic step in support of the national Belt and Road initiative, enhancing Beijing’s status as an international aviation hub, and meeting market demand.
“The Dushanbe–Beijing route not only facilitates travel and trade-economic cooperation between China and Tajikistan but also helps to elevate connectivity between China and Central Asia to a new level. This is a concrete action implementing agreements reached at the China–Central Asia summit and a vivid example of how a national airline fulfills an important foreign policy mission,” Qu Guangji said, adding that China Southern Airlines is a carrier with an impeccable reputation and strong brand.
He noted that for seven consecutive years, it has been ranked among leaders in passenger service quality according to the Civil Aviation Passenger Service Evaluation. The airline has received numerous prestigious awards, including “Best Airline” and the Innovation Award in Civil Aviation, maintaining leadership in airline services for 14 years. Domestically, the airline serves more than 150 destinations and operates over 2,000 flights daily. Its international network covers more than 40 countries and regions, includes 76 routes, nearly 50 overseas offices, and more than 290 international flights every day.
Habibullo Nazarzoda, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, also emphasized that the opening of the first direct Beijing–Dushanbe flight will be an important step in strengthening cooperation and friendly relations between the two countries.
“As a result of bilateral negotiations, from June 16 China Southern Airlines launched a direct Beijing–Dushanbe flight. These flights will be operated twice a week. The route opening coincided with the upcoming celebration of Tajikistan’s National Unity Day and became a wonderful gift for the country’s citizens. This flight is important for expanding international cooperation in air transport, increasing flight geography, opening new destinations, strengthening socio-economic, investment, scientific and technological ties, attracting foreign tourists, and developing the country’s transit potential,” Nazarzoda said.
It was also emphasized that the Civil Aviation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan is making every effort to increase the competitiveness of the national civil aviation sector by strengthening cooperation with leading airlines worldwide and expanding the route network to various regions of the world.
