Tajikistan’s Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment Participates in International Labour Conference

DUSHANBE, 12.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On June 10, the Minister of Labour, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan, Soleha Kholmuhammadzoda took part and delivered speech at the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva.
This year’s session addresses a broad range of labour-related topics, including potential new international standards for protecting workers from biological hazards in the workplace, decent work in the digital economy, and innovative approaches to transitioning from the informal to the formal economy.
In her speech, Minister emphasized Tajikistan’s interest in further strengthening and expanding cooperation with the International Labour Organization (ILO) in the areas of social protection and sustainable development.
She also highlighted the country’s policies aimed at promoting labour standards, improving the well-being of citizens, and advancing labour and social insurance legislation.
As part of the conference, on June 11, Minister Kholmuhammadzoda held meetings with ILO Director-General Gilbert Houngbo and the ILO Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Beate Andrees.
The parties discussed bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the ILO on labour standards, social protection, and strengthening the legal framework.
Both sides reaffirmed their mutual interest in developing the partnership further to enhance social security and sustainable development in Tajikistan.
It should be noted that the conference will continue until June 13.
