Tajikistan and World Bank Discuss Priority Projects

DUSHANBE, 22.07.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – During a meeting in Dushanbe, Tajikistan’s Minister of Finance, Fayziddin Kahhorzoda, and Najy Benhassin, Regional Director of the World Bank for Central Asia, highlighted the World Bank’s significant contribution to the country’s development and expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation.
It was noted that over 100 projects totaling approximately $3.3 billion have been implemented in recent years with World Bank support.
Special focus was given to priority areas, including the Rogun Hydropower Plant project.
Discussions also covered the accelerated allocation of grant funds and timely fulfillment of financial agreement obligations.
The Ministry of Finance proposed launching the second phase of the Sustainable Development Policy Support Program – Competitive and Inclusive Tajikistan with a $50 million guarantee mechanism to attract additional financing for socio-economic sectors.
