DUSHANBE, 19.08.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The distribution of the illustrious masterpiece of master Abulqosim Firdavsi «Shahname» to the population of Tajikistan, which was republished in high quality by the kind and cultural initiative of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, has begun.

The distribution of this masterpiece, which, by the instructions of the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, should be made available to every household in the country, began in the cities and districts of the Badakhshan Mountainous Autonomous Province and the Rasht Valley.

This noble and unique initiative of the enlightened Leader of the Nation was undertaken in honor of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of Tajikistan, and its goal, as the Head of State emphasized, «is, first of all, to revive historical memory, expand national self-awareness and patriotism among the people, especially among adolescents and youth.»

The people of the country have expressed their gratitude and appreciation for this patriotic initiative since its inception, emphasizing in particular that it will actively contribute to strengthening the sense of pride, honor and patriotic responsibility of every citizen of Tajikistan.

This book was published by the “Sharqi Ozod” Publishing House of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan in two volumes with a circulation of 1,700,000 copies.

It should be noted that the “Shahnameh” by the great sage Abulqosim Firdavsi is considered the greatest national epic of the Aryan people and a treasure trove of wisdom and knowledge. Regarding the qualities of the «Shahname», the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, in the preface to its new edition, states, among other things: «Indeed, in the Shahname, which is unparalleled in any other nation in the world, Firdavsi wrote a history full of joy and pride, successes and failures, pain and aspirations of his people with his heart’s blood, and in this way, he kept the history, culture, philosophy, wisdom, stories, myths and customs of the Aryans alive and enduring, and put them at the service of future generations.»

The President of the country recalled the central themes of this masterpiece: praising knowledge and wisdom, promoting patriotism and valor, celebrating independence and freedom, encouraging human equality, the victory of good over evil, and justice and fairness over injustice and unfairness, which, after a thousand years, are still of great importance in our daily lives today.

It is further emphasized that Firdavsi’s sublime philosophy makes us aware of our past and provides an instructive lesson for today’s and tomorrow’s generations. Especially in the process of globalization, which is leading to the disappearance of states, nations, languages, and indigenous cultures, we need the patriotic and identity-building thoughts and ideas of the «Shahname» even more.

It is worth noting that this noble and culture-loving initiative of the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, along with his other creative initiatives, including the publication and presentation of the outstanding work of scholar Bobojon Ghafurov «Tojikon» (Tajiks) to every household, can serve to increase the sense of self-awareness and self-knowledge of every resident of the country and comprehensively contribute to the upbringing of an awakened and creative generation.
