Dushanbe Hosts 12th Meeting of the Cooperation Committee Between the Republic of Tajikistan and the European Union

DUSHANBE, 16.09.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The 12th meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the European Union and the Republic of Tajikistan was held on September 16 in Dushanbe under the chairmanship of Mavsuma Muini, Vice Speaker of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan and Head of the Cooperation Committee of Tajikistan with the European Union.
The meeting was attended by the European Parliament delegation for relations with Central Asia and Mongolia, headed by Giuseppina Princi.
In her remarks, Muini emphasized that the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon attaches great importance to strengthening comprehensive cooperation with the European Union.
“Tajikistan considers the European Union to be a key international partner and, recognizing its role in supporting democratic reforms, attracting foreign investment into priority sectors of the national economy, promoting social development, and environmental protection, strives to build long-term and sustainable cooperation based on mutually beneficial principles,” she stated.
it was presented reports on the current state and prospects of Tajikistan–EU cooperation, including discussions on the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, economic and trade relations, socio-cultural exchanges, environmental protection, energy, and other key areas.
It was underlined that the partnership between Tajikistan and the European Union holds clear prospects and, based on shared interests and constructive objectives, will continue to strengthen in the future. The meeting concluded with the adoption of relevant decisions on the issues discussed.
The visit of the European Parliament delegation to Tajikistan will continue until September 18, with a program that includes tours of the country’s cultural landmarks and a visit to the Rogun Hydropower Plant.
