On November 18, the working visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon to the city of Khujand began with the opening of the new building of the Sughd Regional Cancer Center, which was built with high quality and standards as part of preparations for the celebration of the great national holiday — 35th anniversary of state independence.
The new building of the Cancer Center, which consists of 6 floors, was built on the instructions of the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, with funding from the Executive Body of State Power of Sughd Province for 200 treatment beds, and is unique in terms of its design and the opportunities provided in the field of diagnosis and treatment.
The construction of the new building of Sughd Regional Cancer Center began in August 2022, and more than 200 construction workers were responsible for the implementation of the work.
During the tour of the center, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that the building has 43 treatment rooms, 3 operating rooms with a set of modern surgical equipment, a clinical, biochemical, morphological, immunoenzymatic analysis room, an ultrasound and endoscopic examination room, and 60 more healthcare professionals, especially oncologists, have been recruited to work in 5 operating departments.
For the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, medical devices and equipment worth more than 7 million somoni, manufactured by reputable companies in the world, have been purchased. Using these devices, doctors have the opportunity to conduct timely diagnostics, identify the disease in the early stages, and start treating cancer patients in a timely manner. At the same time, this process makes a significant contribution to the implementation of the national programs of the Republic of Tajikistan to combat cancer. This is especially true at a time when cancer incidence has increased worldwide.
In the new building, patients are admitted, diagnosed, and treated using a centralized electronic system. This system of work helps to save time for patients, doctors, and other employees.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, instructed the management and doctors of the center to be more responsible when diagnosing and treating patients and to make a significant contribution to improving the health of society.
A spacious hall with 100 seats has been built in the new building of the center for holding consultations, meetings, and other sectoral events.
