DUSHANBE, 01.12.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – On November 30, 2025, at approximately 18:45 local time, members of an armed terrorist group from the territory of Ruzvayak village of Maimay district, Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan, carried out an armed attack on employees of the road construction company China Road and Bridge Corporation in Shodak village of the Vishkharv rural community of the Darvoz district of Tajikistan. As a result, two citizens of the People’s Republic of China were killed and two others sustained various injuries, reports the Press Center of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic of Tajikistan.
A similar terrorist act was committed earlier, on November 26, 2025, when militants from the territory of Shahr-e Buzurg district of Badakhshan Province of Afghanistan crossed into the Shamsiddin Shohin district of Tajikistan, resulting in the death of three employees of the Shohin-SM company — citizens of the People’s Republic of China — and injuring another.
Despite Tajikistan’s consistent efforts to ensure security and foster mutually beneficial cooperation in the border regions of Tajikistan and Afghanistan, criminal groups continue attempting to destabilize the situation along the state border.
Tajikistan expresses deep concern and strongly condemns these heinous acts by criminal groups, calling on the current authorities of Afghanistan to take immediate and effective measures to ensure security and stability along the shared state border and to apprehend those involved in these tragic incidents.
The Tajik side is taking additional measures to strengthen the state border and ensure the safety of both domestic and foreign citizens.
At present, the situation along the state border remains calm and under the full control of the competent authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The investigation into these incidents is ongoing, led by the country’s law enforcement agencies.
