Central Asia, U.K. Hold First C5+1 Foreign Ministers Meeting in London

On Feb. 26, 2026, the first meeting of foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the United Kingdom in the C5+1 format was held in London. The Tajik delegation was led by Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
Participants discussed key international and regional issues and exchanged views on expanding trade and economic cooperation, attracting investment, strengthening security partnerships and other areas of mutual interest.
In his remarks, Muhriddin said cooperation between Tajikistan and the United Kingdom has developed positively in recent years in the fields of economy, investment, industry, education and science. He said the meeting reflects the region’s commitment to strengthening constructive partnership with the United Kingdom and ensuring sustainable development in Central Asia.
The sides also emphasized the importance of joint efforts to address climate change, advance water and climate initiatives, and promote intercultural dialogue.
