Tajikistan, Abu Dhabi Fund Sign $100 Million Deal for Rogun Hydropower Plant

DUSHANBE, 05.02.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The Republic of Tajikistan and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) have signed a financial agreement worth $100 million to support construction and infrastructure works at the Rogun Hydropower Plant, according to the Ministry of Finance of Tajikistan.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday in Dubai by Tajikistan’s Minister of Finance Fayziddin Kahhorzoda and ADFD Director General Muhammad Saif Al Suwaidi.
The funds will be used to finance works under Lot 2 of the Rogun Hydropower Plant, a strategic national project aimed at strengthening Tajikistan’s energy security and expanding electricity generation capacity.
