Tajikistan — Iran Expand Economic and Trade Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 20.02.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The expansion of bilateral cooperation in priority areas was discussed during a meeting between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda, and the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyed Mohammad Atabak.
The discussions focused on the establishment of joint ventures in Tajikistan’s free economic zones, cooperation in industry, energy, agriculture, mechanical engineering, and chemical production, as well as the development of transport and logistics infrastructure.
The sides expressed strong interest in fully utilizing existing opportunities and further expanding economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
It was emphasized that relations between Tajikistan and Iran are rooted in deep historical, cultural, and linguistic ties and have now entered a new stage of intensified economic and trade cooperation.
