President Emomali Rahmon Launches Cotton Planting Campaign in Mastchoh District

On March 30, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, continuing his working visit to Mastchoh district, launched a cotton planting campaign on the lands of Mirkhond farm.
The Head of State got acquainted with the process of agricultural work in the farm field and gave useful recommendations to farmers on the effective use of land, compliance with agrotechnical rules, selection of high-quality seeds, and increasing productivity.
It was emphasized that the development of the agricultural sector, especially cotton production, is one of the important directions for ensuring food security and the progress of the national economy.
The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that in 2026, in order to organize agricultural production in the sector of peasant and public farms of the district, a spring sowing structure of agricultural crops has been designed, according to which spring sowing of agricultural crops will be carried out on an area of about 20 thousand hectares. Of which, 12,450 hectares are planted with cotton, 2,250 hectares with oilseed crops, 2,700 hectares with legumes, 20 hectares with early potatoes, 105 hectares with vegetables, and 800 hectares with fodder crops.
To date, spring sowing of agricultural crops has been carried out on an area of 750 hectares in the district.
Here, the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, visited an exhibition of agricultural products and the work of the hardworking people of Mastchoh district. A large list of vegetables, legumes, and fresh natural fruits was exhibited.
Farmers of the district presented their products, such as vegetables, fresh and dried fruits, and seeds of crops.
The Head of State emphasized that there is a high demand for peanuts abroad, and their kernels are widely used in the preparation of confectionery products. Therefore, farmers were encouraged to produce more of this type of product and export it abroad.
