The first Tajik restaurant, Umari Khayyom, has opened in Minsk’s EXPOBEL shopping center, the Embassy of Tajikistan in Belarus told the state news agency Khovar.
Tajik Ambassador to Belarus Bakhtovar Safarzoda attended the opening ceremony.
Guests were introduced to traditional Tajik dishes, including plov, qurutob and other national cuisine, and attended a cultural program featuring music performances and elements of traditional rituals.
With its distinctive national atmosphere and modern service, the restaurant could become a popular destination for those interested in culture and Eastern cuisine in Minsk.
The opening marks a step in promoting Tajik culture, traditions and cuisine abroad and may help strengthen cultural ties and expand humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan and Belarus.
