Tajik FM attends 11th Coordination Committee meeting of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact

DUSHANBE, 06.02.2025 /NIAT «Khovar»/. On February 5, 2025, the 11th Coordination Committee meeting of the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact took place at the UN Headquarters in New York, under the chairmanship of the UN Under-Secretary-General and Head of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office, Mr. Vladimir Voronkov.
The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin, the State of Kuwait, Mr. Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya (via video message), and Hungary, Mr. Peter Szijjarto, participated and delivered statement in the high-level segment of the meeting.
In his video message, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan emphasized that terrorism represents one of the most serious threats, requiring a collective approach and the unity of all countries and international organizations. Tajikistan, as the initiator of the Dushanbe Process on Counter-Terrorism and its Financing, reaffirms its commitment to strengthening cooperation with the United Nations and other international partners to effectively address these challenges.
At the end of his speech, the Minister highlighted Tajikistan’s achievements in strengthening peace and security, its contribution to the fight against terrorism, as well as the country’s active participation in various international initiatives and UN mechanisms aimed at preventing violence and extremism.
The meeting became an important platform for discussing international cooperation in the fight against terrorism and for formulating strategic steps to enhance the effectiveness of global coordination efforts at the UN level.
