Tajik, Uzbek Customs Hold Border Cooperation Talks

A meeting of the working group of representatives from the customs authorities of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan was held at the Fotekhobod–Oybek border checkpoint, the Customs Service of Tajikistan said.
The meeting brought together senior officials and specialists from the Tajik Customs Service and a delegation from Uzbekistan’s customs authorities.
The main focus was on expanding cross-border cooperation, improving the efficiency of the Fotekhobod–Oybek checkpoint and exchanging experience in the digitalization of customs procedures.
The two sides discussed increasing checkpoint capacity, streamlining border-crossing procedures, introducing modern digital technologies in customs administration and sharing best practices in customs digital transformation.
Particular attention was paid to resolving issues arising during customs inspections and border crossings, as well as developing joint mechanisms for their prompt settlement.
