President Emomali Rahmon: Uzbek-Speaking Population of Tursunzoda Should Have Access to Uzbek-Language Schools, Textbooks

President of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency, Emomali Rahmon, during a working visit to Tursunzoda, instructed education officials to establish Uzbek-language educational institutions for the city’s Uzbek-speaking population and provide them with textbooks and other educational materials in their native language.
Speaking at the opening of Secondary Educational Institution No. 21, Emomai Rahmon praised the quality of construction and urged education officials and teachers to take greater responsibility for improving the quality of education and upbringing.
During a meeting with teachers, Emomai Rahmon emphasized the importance of advancing modern sciences, making effective use of new equipment and technologies, and strengthening the study of natural sciences, mathematics, exact sciences and foreign languages.
During the president’s working visit, 60 facilities were commissioned in Tursunzoda, including 20 secondary educational institutions with a total capacity of 18,200 students in two shifts, five private preschool institutions serving 950 children.
According to officials, Tursunzoda currently has 132 secondary educational institutions serving more than 78,863 students.
As part of preparations to mark the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s state independence, 24 educational institutions are planned to be built and commissioned in Tursunzoda. Of these, 19 educational buildings with a total capacity of 8,185 students have been completed and put into operation.
