Tajikistan Joins Regional Talks on Radio Frequency Spectrum

From Aug. 17-21, the 30th session of the Regional Union Commission on Communications on the Regulation of the Use of the Radio Frequency Spectrum and Satellite Orbits and the 59th session of the Regional Union Commission on Communications on the Coordination of International Cooperation were held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

Representatives of the State Unitary Enterprise Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility and Radio Monitoring under the Communications Service of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan participated in the sessions.

The sessions addressed a wide range of issues related to the development of the communications sector, strengthening regional and international cooperation, the activities of Regional Union working groups on communications, and preparations for major international events.

Participants also discussed preparations for proposals and joint positions of Regional Union member states for the 2027 Radio Assembly and World Radiocommunication Conference.

A bilateral meeting between delegations from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan was held on the sidelines of the sessions. The delegations discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in communications, including a draft agreement on coordinating radio frequency assignments in border areas.

The agreement is important for further developing bilateral cooperation in radio frequency spectrum management and ensuring its effective use in border areas. The sides emphasized the need to sign the agreement as soon as possible.

Tajikistan’s active participation in regional and international meetings will help strengthen cooperation in communications, develop effective mechanisms for managing the radio frequency spectrum and safeguard the country’s interests in the use of radio frequency resources.
