Tajikistan, Turkey Discuss Expanding Textile, Investment Cooperation

Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan, Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda, met with Rusen Cetin, chairman of the Tajik-Turkish Business Council, to discuss expanding bilateral trade, investment and industrial cooperation, the ministry said.
The talks focused on the current state and future prospects of trade, economic and investment relations, as well as strengthening direct cooperation between the business communities of Tajikistan and Turkey.
Abdurahmonzoda said trade and economic ties between the two countries have continued to expand, with bilateral trade increasing in recent years. He attributed the growth to the close cooperation fostered by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The minister also outlined opportunities for Turkish investors, highlighting incentives for establishing joint manufacturing enterprises and investing in Tajikistan’s free economic zones. The discussions gave particular attention to the development of the textile industry, agricultural processing, construction materials production, pharmaceuticals and the adoption of modern technologies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation and expanding partnerships between businesses in Tajikistan and Turkey.
