On September 1, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, took part in and addressed the SCO+ Council of Heads of State meeting on the topic: «The UN as a Key Element of a Just World Order: the Contribution of SCO+ States to the Formation of a Multipolar World.»

At the beginning of his address, Emomali Rahmon, reiterating his gratitude to Sadyr Japarov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic, for the warm welcome and excellent organization of the summit, called the SCO+ format «an important platform for expanding multilateral cooperation and evidence of the SCO’s growing authority.»

He went on to note that «the world today faces growing geopolitical contradictions and regional conflicts, growing threats of terrorism, extremism, and radicalism, as well as energy and food security challenges.»

Expressing concern about the current global situation, President Emomali Rahmon also emphasized that «the consequences of climate change are becoming increasingly tangible, requiring us to join efforts and develop a common response strategy.»

During his speech, the Head of State mentioned Tajikistan’s new proposal for a «Dushanbe Water Framework» designed to advance the global water agenda beyond 2030. This proposal, along with other important framework agreements such as the «Dushanbe Water Process» and the «Dushanbe Process for Glacier Preservation,» will address humanity’s aspirations in this area.

It was noted that the «Dushanbe Counter-Terrorism Process», promoted by Tajikistan with UN support, is developing as a sought-after international platform.»

Confidence was expressed that achieving the goals and objectives of the recently adopted UNGA Resolution on the «International Decade of Strengthening of Peace for Future Generations,» proposed by Tajikistan, would make a significant contribution to ensuring peace, stability, and sustainable development.
