On September 27, as part of his working visit to the cities and districts of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, officially inaugurated the Duoi Modar Cultural and Recreational Park in the city of Khorugh.

The facility was constructed to a high standard as part of the ongoing development and improvement initiatives undertaken in preparation for the worthy celebration of the 35th anniversary of State Independence.

The cultural and recreational park was established to honor the high status of mothers, their tireless efforts, and their invaluable role in raising children and contributing to the development of society. The installation of a statue of a mother at this location symbolizes sincere respect for one of humanity’s greatest values.

The newly constructed and beautifully landscaped park is located in the picturesque area of the Nosiri Khusrav neighborhood of Khorugh. Construction began in November 2025. The project was designed by the state unitary enterprise of Shughnon District, while construction was completed with the involvement of specialists from Amirhamza Limited Liability Company.

Particular attention was paid to landscaping and greenery during the construction of the park. Four gazebos have been built within the grounds, providing comfortable conditions for residents and visitors to relax. Colorful ornamental flowers add a distinctive freshness to the park, while the green spaces and attractive landscaping further enhance its appearance.

The entire park is equipped with lighting and becomes a particularly attractive recreational area in the evening. In addition to enhancing the beauty of the surroundings, the lighting creates favorable conditions for residents to walk and enjoy their leisure time.

The construction of such cultural and recreational spaces in Khorugh contributes to the development of tourism infrastructure and further enhances the beauty and overall appearance of the city.
