A telephone conversation took place today between the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko.

Ms. Matviyenko extended her sincere congratulations and best wishes to the Leader of the Nation on his birthday.

During the conversation, the parties exchanged views on various aspects of the multifaceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia, including inter-parliamentary ties, which make a significant contribution to expanding relations between the two countries within the framework of their strategic partnership and alliance.

Noting with satisfaction the steady development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations, the Leader of the Nation expressed confidence that these ties would continue to develop in a spirit of friendship, mutual understanding, and trust, in line with the fundamental interests of the peoples of both countries.
