The festivities on the occasion of the National Unity Day were held at the central stadium of the city of Khorog in the evening of June 27 with the participation of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – the Leader of the Nation, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

In his speech, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon congratulated the residents and all the people of Tajikistan on the 19th anniversary of the historic date, and admonished all to the devotion to the highest values ​​- Unity, Solidarity, Peace, Stability, Development and Prosperity of our beloved Tajikistan.

In his speech, the Leader of the Nation, in particular, noted that «the path of building a democratic, legal, secular state, formation of civil society in Tajikistan that we have been steadily moving forward is a prime example of prevalence of the unity, mutual understanding, tolerance, and solidarity of the people and political power.

This unique achievement, as a part of a tradition of tolerance, is now playing a crucial role in promoting the political, social, economic and cultural life of our country.»

President Emomali Rahmon stated that «the national unity and peace-building experience of the Tajiks are among the very valuable lessons that are recognized and studied both domestically and at a global level».

Therefore, the national unity in the modern history of the state of the Tajik nation is the most valuable asset, because it laid a solid foundation for the implementation of the aspirations of our people, who hoped for peace, stability, friendship and mutual understanding».

The Head of State, reminding about the initiatives of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on the expansion and improvement of the creative process in the cities and districts of GBAO, said that «Only for the last three years over one billion seven hundred million somoni was spent for the development of the region».

It is planned to implement in the coming years dozens of new public investment projects on the reconstruction of roads, the construction of hydroelectric power plants, the rehabilitation of irrigation networks, which will certainly contribute to further improvement of the welfare of the inhabitants of GBAO.

Celebrations in honor of the National Unity Day continued with a theatrical performance, replete with the scenes of honoring a peaceful and stable atmosphere in the homeland, as well as a colorful concert program.

It should be recalled that this event was attended by representatives of the intelligentsia, the activists of the cities and districts of the country, as well as guests from 17 countries.

The theatrical program of culture and art workers of the country left a positive impression on all the participants of the festive celebrations.
