CSTO foreign ministers begin meeting in Yerevan
Dushanbe, 04.07.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. A meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has got underway in Yerevan. The Republic of Tajikistan is represented by Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov.
“Today we plan to consider a number of issues related to the organization’s activities and decisions made by our countries’ presidents,” said Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian. “We hope to have an exchange of views on regional and international issues.”
The meeting’s agenda includes efforts to combat international terrorism and extremism in the light of the trends in the development of the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
According to TASS News Agency, the foreign ministers of the CSTO member-countries will also discuss the draft strategy of the CSTO collective security for the period up to 2025.
