Armenia President and CSTO Secretary General discuss details of Yerevan session
Dushanbe, 13.10.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is also the Chairman of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), on Wednesday, received the CSTO Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha.
According to the press-service of the President of Armenia, the two sides discussed the process of implementation of the decisions adopted at the previous September and December sessions of the Collective Security Council as well as preliminary works of the November 14 session of the Council which will take place in Yerevan.
The President of Armenia highly praised works of Nikolay Bordzyuzha during Armenia’s presidency in the CSTO, including the works related to the preparation and organization of the sessions of all legislative bodies of the CSTO and development of the strategy for the CSTO collective security up to year 2025.
Noting that the Yerevan session has a pretty large agenda, Nikolay Bordzyuzha underscored that during Armenia’s productive presidency at the CSTO momentous decisions have been adopted which will give a serious boost to the development of the Organization. Secretary General of the CSTO noted among them the collective security strategy, an extensive document related to the extra measures aimed at the fight against terrorism.
The parties also exchanged views pertinent to the current regional and international issues.
