Tajikistan Ambassador in Japan met with the Governor of Tokyo
DUSHANBE, 17.07.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan in Japan Hamrokhon ZARIFI held meeting on July 14 with the Governor of Tokyo, Ms. Yuriko Koike.
At the beginning of the conversation the Ambassador of Tajikistan has emphasized that in the current year both countries celebrate 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Japan.
During the conversation, which took place in an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding, the interlocutors focused their attention on the activation and strengthening of bilateral cooperation in various directions. In particular, a proposal was made to establish sister-city relations between the two countries.
In light of the forthcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games the parties had an exchange of views on issues related to sport and joint contribution to the development of cooperation in this field. An agreement was reached on holding joint events in the field of sports.
At the end of the conversation, the Ambassador of Tajikistan invited Ms. Yuriko Koike to pay a visit to Tajikistan.
