Fourth meeting of the Tajik-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Baku
DUSHANBE, 17.07.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The fourth meeting of the Tajik-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation was held on July 13 in Baku.
According to the MFA Information Department, the meeting was co-chaired by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Nematullo Hikmatullozoda and the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev, and was attended by official representatives of the governments of the two countries.
During the meeting, the co-chairs briefed on the economic development of their countries, considered the current state of trade and economic relations, and discussed prospects for further development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, in particular, expanding economic ties, strengthening cooperation in the fields of industry, business (small and medium businesses), transport, energy, communications, high technology, agriculture, health, science, education, culture and tourism, as well as the development of the legal base of bilateral relations.
As part of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan, there was held a business seminar on the theme: “Investment climate and favorable business opportunities in the Republic of Tajikistan and the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2030”. The business seminar was attended by representatives of relevant state and private companies of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Hikmatullo Nematullozoda presented the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period until 2030, as well as familiarized the participants with the favorable business opportunities in the Republic of Tajikistan.
