Japan provided assistance to improve the print quality of training products in Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 28.08.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Charge d’Affaires ad interim of Japan to the Republic of Tajikistan Tomohiro NAKAGAKI together with the chairman of central office of National Union of Blind People of Tajikistan Turbek DAVLATOV attended the handover ceremony to commemorate the successful completion of the “Project for Provision of Braille Printers and Braille Textbooks”.
According to the Embassy of Japan in Tajikistan, the project was realized within the framework of Japan’s “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)”. The Government of Japan provided the total grant amount of USD 24,997 to the branch of National Union of Blind People of Tajikistan aiming at enhancing their potential of print production and improving the quality of study material for blind children.
The branch of National Union of Blind People of Tajikistan has acquired two specialized printers as well as materials for printing 1,320 study books for primary classes which will be disseminated among the schools for blind people located in Dushanbe, Hissor, Qurghonteppa, Isfara and Khujand. With acquisition of the equipment, the branch of National Union of Blind People of Tajikistan will be able to provide more printing materials for visually impaired people.
During the ceremony, Tomohiro NAKAGAKI stated that Japan’s GGP projects have been able to make a true difference by providing development assistance in the development of different spheres, including infrastructure, education, agriculture, health and social sectors. He also added that the projects also play a vital role in strengthening bilateral partnership between the Republic of Tajikistan and Japan.
