The third meeting of the International Steering Committee on the International High-Level Conference was held in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 18.06.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The third meeting of the International Steering Committee on the International High-Level Conference for the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 was held today afternoon in Serena Hotel, in Dushanbe, NIAT “Khovar” correspondent reports from the scene.
The event was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjiddin Muhriddin, UN Under-Secretary-General Liu Zhenming, the World Bank’s Senior Water Affairs Specialist Christina Leb, members of the International Steering Committee and representatives of a number of international organizations based in Dushanbe.
It should be noted that from March 2018 to the present, the International Steering Committee provided significant support to the National Organizing Committee in the successful preparation for the International High-Level Conference to be opened on June 20 in Dushanbe.
The presentation of the final documents of the conference was held in today’s event. It was stressed that the experience of the members of the International Steering Committee made it possible to successfully conduct the preparatory process. It is expected that in the process of the conference this success will be fixed by productive final documents.
