President Emomali Rahmon Sends Another Assistance Package to GBAO
DUSHANBE, 15.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – President Emomali Rahmon has sent an additional assistance package to the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO). The package, which consists of 500 tons of food and medications worth 5 million somoni, is meant to provide socio-economic support for doctors and those infected with COVID-19.
In addition to medications, doctors of regional hospitals will be provided with medical clothing, masks, gloves, protective equipment, antiseptic and other medical equipment. The assistance package will be distributed throughout the eight cities and districts of GBAO. An ambulance vehicle was also delivered to be added to the regional central hospital’s current fleet.
Earlier this week, President Emomali Rahmon had ordered the delivery of another caravan loaded with medical supplies to Khorog,- the center of GBAO. The delivery consisted of medications, personal protective clothing, masks, disinfectant solutions and food.
