President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon Visited Rushon District

DUSHANBE, 20.08.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Following the completion of his working trip to Vanj district, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Rushon, where he attended the unveiling ceremony of the National Flag Square with a 30-meter flagpole.
He also attended the opening ceremony of the Secondary educational institution No. 9 named after Atambek Ilchibekov, and met with the local teachers.
Following the unveiling ceremony of the building of Amonatbank’s new branch, President Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the Logistics Center of the Agency on the State Material Reserves.
The opening ceremony for the 800-square-meter sport grounds, which includes fields for mini-football, basketball, and volleyball, followed the list. The facility was financed and built by a local businessman Rizvonzoda Safar in the Barzudi village of Rushan district.
President Rahmon met with representatives of the public to discuss the socio-economic development of the Rushon district. The discussion also focused onremoving barriers for the development of entrepreneurship, production capacity utilization, establishment of new enterprises, creating new jobs, land reclamation, and increasing of volume of farm production.
In his address, he noted that in the 29 years since independence, the government has always attached great importance to the development of Rushon.
During this period 510 million somoni, including financial assistance worth 190 million somoni has been spend toward the development of the district.
In addition, seven public investment projects worth 80 million somoni have been implemented in the district over the years. Two other projects worth 11 million somoni, namely Strengthening Infrastructure in Tajikistan for Disaster and Climate Resilience and Tajikistan Emergency COVID-19 Project are currently being implemented.
During the period of independence, a total of 314 economic and social facilities worth 183 million somoni have been put into operation. Out of this number, 77 facilities have been constructed and reconstructed at the expense of the government, amounting to 92 million somoni.
Within the framework of the Rushon Socio-Economic Development Program for 2016-2020, 127 projects worth more than 138 million somoni are being implemented now.
At the end of his speech, President Rahmon wished the district residents good health and success.
