Election Commission Registered Presidential Candidates

DUSHANBE, 14.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Chairman of the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER) Bakhtiyor Khudoyorzoda held a meeting.
The focus was on issues relating to the organization of the presidential election scheduled for October 11, and the registration of candidates.
In accordance with Article 24 of the Constitutional Law On the Presidential Elections, the CCER received the relevant information on the nomination of candidates from the Agrarian Party, the Socialist Party, the Party of Economic Reforms, the Federation of Independent Trade Unions, the Youth Union, The People’s Democratic Party, the Communist Party, and the Democratic Party.
In accordance with the requirements of the Constitution and the aforementioned law, the commission has studied the submitted documents of the candidates, and registered the nominated candidates for the presidential post, including Rustam Latifzoda from the Agrarian Party, Abduhalim Gafforzoda from the Socialist Party, Emomali Rahmon from the Federation of Independent Trade Unions, the Youth Union, and the People’s Democratic Party, Rustam Rahmatzoda from the Party of Economic Reforms, and Miroj Abdulloev from the Communist Party.
