Trade Between Tajikistan and Russia Amounts to $800 Million

DUSHANBE, 25.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – In first ten months of 2020, trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia has amounted to over $800 million. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov at the press conference yesterday.
According to him, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected trade and economic cooperation between the states, and accounts for the 6% decrease in trade compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, according to the Russian Ambassador, the physical volume of trade has increased by 25%.
Fuel, lubricants, food, construction materials, equipment, agricultural machinery made up the majority of the traded products.
However, despite the pandemic, Lyakin-Frolov noted that the plans and measures outlined between Tajikistan and Russia were carried out through face to face meetings, as well as online.
