150,000 Doses of CoronaVac Will Be Delivered from China to Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 20.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – As part of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China, 150,000 doses of CoronaVac vaccine will be imported from China, reported the head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Safety in Emergency Situations and Operational Medical Aid of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population Navruz Jafarov.
According to him, this step was taken by the leadership of both countries.
On March 8, as part of the mechanism of the World Health Organization (COVAX), 192,000 AstraZeneca vaccines were delivered to Dushanbe from Delhi.
In order to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological safety of the population, to prevent the spread of COVID-19 across the country, on March 22, the government of Tajikistan approved the decree ‘On Immunization Against COVID-19’ and on March 23, immunization among medical workers began in Dushanbe.
“To date, immunization covers 36,190 medical workers, employees of the medical department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Dushanbe International Airport, the State Committee for National Security, teachers and students,” Jafarov said.
According to him, the Russian Sputnik V vaccine will also be imported to Tajikistan. According to the plan, the imported vaccines will sufficient for 6.7 million individuals.
