DUSHANBE, 03.10.2024 /NIAT Khovar/. Chairman of the State Committee on Investment and State Property Management of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulton Rahimzoda acted as a key speaker at the panel discussion «Best Practices for Sustainable Cross-Border Connectivity in Central Asia», which was held within the framework of the 9th Annual Meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Samarkand.
In his speech, he noted that the Central Asian region, being a point of contact between civilizations, plays an important historical role. Given its landlocked nature and broad economic opportunities, the countries of the region can make a significant contribution to competitiveness, stability and economic sustainability.
Sulton Rahimzoda stressed that the development of cross-border infrastructure in Central Asia, supported by close cooperation of international financial organizations and the private sector, will contribute to sustainable economic growth and improved integration between Asia and Europe.
Recall that the event was organized by the Multilateral Cooperation Centre for Development Finance (MCDF) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. The issues of mobilizing funds from international financial organizations and the private sector to improve cross-border connectivity of Central Asia with West and East Asia, the Middle East and Europe were discussed.
