On November 10, in the city of Riyadh, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with the Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Khalid Al-Falih, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit.

Honorable President of the country Emomali Rahmon emphasized that the development and expansion of relations in the field of trade and economy is one of the main areas of cooperation.

The parties discussed issues of expanding investment, technical and cultural cooperation.

The regular holding of meetings of the Tajik-Saudi Arabia Intergovernmental Commission and business fora, product exhibitions and the establishment of the Tajikistan-Saudi Arabia Joint Fund for financing investment projects was called beneficial.

It was said that there are many opportunities between the two countries for the implementation of joint investment projects in the areas of light industry, food, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, as well as energy and agriculture. The establishment of modern logistics centers, joint industrial enterprises was considered necessary.

The launch of direct flight on the Dushanbe-Jeddah-Dushanbe route from March 2023 was considered a good result for the expansion of beneficial relations. It was hoped that a direct flight on the Dushanbe-Riyadh-Dushanbe route will be launched, and in this context, the visit of Saudi tourists to Tajikistan will increase.
