DUSHANBE, 18.11.2024 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On November 18, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, held a meeting with the leaders and activists of Sughd Province in the city of Guliston.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon summed up the working visit to the cities and districts of Istaravshan, Buston, Bobojon Ghafurov and the preparation of the residents of the region to welcome the great national holiday – 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

It was emphasized that construction and reconstruction of 12,000 industrial and social facilities are planned in Sughd Province to welcome this historic holiday, and more than 8,200 of them have been built and put in commission.

President Emomali Rahmon stated that only in 10 months of this year, 52 general education institutions and additional classrooms for 16,000 students, 57 healthcare facilities and more than 2,300 kilometers of roads were built and repaired in the region. During this period, more than 55 thousand new jobs were created in the region.

The officials of the region were obliged to ensure the correction of the existing construction deficiencies, to speed up the construction and reconstruction of planned facilities with high architectural art, and to put the quality of construction works under strict control.

It was said that 26 billion somoni were allocated to the Sughd Province from all sources of the state budget, including more than 3.6 billion somoni in 10 months of this year, for the implementation of constructive goals and plans in the years of state independence.

It was emphasized that 56 public investment projects in the amount of more than 13 billion somoni were implemented in the region during the period of independence for education, health care and transportation sectors, and 18 more projects are currently being implemented.

It was mentioned that agricultural products worth more than 18.8 billion somoni were produced in the agricultural sector of the region in 10 months of 2024.

The executive bodies of state power of the region and its cities and districts were obliged to take necessary measures to ensure the prospect of planting crops, especially early crops.

The Head of State instructed the leadership of the region, cities and districts to take effective measures to eliminate existing problems, including the decrease in the production of poultry meat and eggs, and to ensure the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.

During the analysis of the state of the industry, it was emphasized that the share of the Sughd Province in the total volume of industrial production of the country has reached more than 56 percent in 10 months of this year.

During this period, 136 new industrial enterprises were established in the region, which is 101 fewer than in the same period last year.

Therefore, the leadership of the region and its cities and districts, together with other relevant ministries and agencies, were instructed to carry out additional measures for the development of the processing industry, especially the light industry, food, machinery, production of construction materials and medicines.

The Head of State stated that the implementation of 4 public investment projects in the amount of 69 million somoni is underway in the territory of Sughd Province to prevent the loss of electricity.

The relevant ministries and agencies of the sector, the executive bodies of state power of the region and its cities and districts were instructed to take measures for the effective use of the allocated funds and to prevent the loss of electricity.

The President also gave specific orders to the responsible persons to improve the condition of medical institutions, to provide them with modern equipment and technologies and to enhance the quality of medical services.

Depending on the state of cultural institutions, it was ordered that the leadership of the region, its cities and districts take necessary measures for the repair of cultural institutions in need of repair and in a state of emergency.

In this regard, it was emphasized that every city and district should have a music school. It was also instructed to repair all defective cultural institutions by Navruz 2025.

The President of the country, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, in connection with the turbulent and unpredictable situation of the world, demanded that the leaders and officials in such conditions expand constructive actions, pay special attention to the issue of creating new jobs, attracting domestic and foreign capital, and effective use of existing opportunities and resources.

After the speech of the Head of State, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the chairman of Sughd Province, Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, and the leaders of the cities and districts of the region, reported to the Head of State on the results of the socio-economic development of the region and preparation for the national celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

At the same time, the Honorable Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, expressed his gratitude to all entrepreneurs of Sughd Province, who play a significant role in construction and development, and voiced hope that the proud people of Sughd Province and all our dear country will welcome the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan with worthy achievements.
