On May 15, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mayor of Dushanbe, Honorable Rustam Emomali, got acquainted with the progress of construction work at the important cultural facility — the National Theater of Tajikistan.

It should be recalled that the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, had launched construction work at the National Theater of Tajikistan on March 17, 2015.

The building of the National Theater is located in a beautiful area of Dushanbe — next to the National Museum of Tajikistan and the National Flag Park of Tajikistan.

During his visit to the facility, Emomali Rahmon was informed that to date, the reinforced concrete works are nearing completion and the builders are accelerating the work in order to complete it within a month and with high quality.

Currently, 500 workers are working on the construction.

It should be noted that according to the plan, the building of the National Theater of Tajikistan will consist of 2 underground floors and 5 above-ground floors, with a height of 34.5 meters. About 3 hectares of land have been allocated for the construction of the theater building.

According to the project, the theater building will consist of 3 large halls and numerous other halls and rooms. The main hall will have 2,500 seats and 2 other conference and concert halls, each with 1,000 seats.

The theater will have a place for the orchestra, rehearsal rooms, a hotel and other necessary working conditions for artists, which will meet world-class requirements.

The underground floors will accommodate a parking lot for 250 cars, as well as numerous technical and auxiliary rooms. The building will be equipped with heating, air conditioning, and other systems.

The facility will have 17 passenger and freight elevators and 6 escalators.

During the visit, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, had a cordial conversation with workers and specialists, guiding them to perform their work in a high-quality and timely manner.
