On October 9, 2025, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon met with the President of Turkmenistan, Honorable Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the sidelines of the Central Asia-Russia Summit and the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The meeting discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as regional and global agendas.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, emphasized that Tajikistan attaches great importance to developing trade and economic cooperation with Turkmenistan.

The parties expressed their readiness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of energy, industry, and agriculture, including new «green» areas.

At the same time, the importance of establishing joint ventures and increasing exports of industrial and agricultural products was noted.

Particular attention was paid to expanding cooperation in transport and communications.

The enhancement of cultural and humanitarian ties, including the holding of Culture Days and other joint events, was recognized as important.
