President Emomali Rahmon attended opening of industrial enterprises and drinking water line in Sughd Province

On November 18, after commissioning the administrative building of the Sughd Free Economic Zone, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, also remotely commissioned 4 industrial enterprises in Khujand city, 1 drinking water distribution line and 2 potable water lines in the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district.
The sock factory was established on the basis of Afzali Nur LLC in Khujand city with the contribution of a domestic entrepreneur for more than 2 million somoni. The factory’s 100 machines, from yarn to finished products, labeling, and packaging, are automatically completed, and 600 thousand pairs of socks are produced per month in two shifts. At the first stage of the enterprise, 50 local women and girls are employed, and 20 different types of men’s, women’s and children’s socks are produced here. The enterprise’s products are also exported abroad under the Afzali Nur brand and as «Made in Tajikistan».
In order to establish the production of new types of import-substituting products, a new workshop with the installation of modern equipment for the production of knitted construction gloves was established on the basis of Afzali Nur LLC in Khujand. The installation of 14 new devices and equipment at the enterprise has made it possible to produce the necessary products for use by builders during construction work. The equipment of the enterprise is made in the People’s Republic of China, and 15 local residents have been provided with jobs. The work of the devices is carried out automatically and is highly productive. The production capacity is up to 250 thousand pairs of construction gloves per month.
In the city of Khujand, the Akhtari Khujand women’s clothing factory was built on the basis of JSC Nurteks by a domestic entrepreneur Nurullo Usmonov at 234A Ismoili Somoni Avenue. The products produced are partly made of cotton and are now being sold within the country. National elements and local characteristics are taken into account in the sewing of clothes. The total output of the enterprise is up to 40 thousand somoni per month and will increase in stages. The enterprise’s prospects include the creation of new jobs and export of products abroad.
The Akhtari Khujand sewing factory is newly established, and one of its main areas of activity is the sewing of school uniforms. For this purpose, sewing and cutting equipment is imported from the People’s Republic of China, and the products are manufactured in accordance with existing standards.
The Akhtari Khujand sewing factory has signed a cooperation agreement with several educational institutions in Dushanbe and plans to produce up to 4,000 sets of school uniforms. This sewing factory was established on the instructions of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, and 10 housewives are permanently employed there. Also, this factory provides orphans, half-orphans, poor children, and students of boarding schools in Khujand and its surroundings with free school uniforms.
Another workshop of the factory sews sportswear. With the commissioning of the new workshops of the factory, a total of 100 people are provided with jobs and good salaries.
The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that the factories producing socks, construction gloves, women’s, school and children’s sportswear are equipped with modern equipment and produce environmentally friendly, high-quality, and competitive products. The construction of these enterprises has provided hundreds of local residents with permanent jobs.
It was reported that a drinking water distribution line was built in the village of Obburdon in the Ivan-Tojik village of the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district to provide water for 1,500 local residents. Once this important water distribution line was put into operation, thousands of people have gained access to clean drinking water.
With the commissioning of two water supply lines in the villages of Ivan-Tojik and Langar in the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district, 400 hectares of new land have been brought into agricultural circulation this year and will be irrigated in 2026.
By order of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Forestry Agency under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has implemented an important project in the field of irrigation and land improvement in the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district. As part of this operation, 300 hectares of waterless and wasteland have been fully irrigated and brought into agricultural circulation.
According to officials, new orchards have been established in this area and various fruit trees have been planted. According to experts, the good irrigation opportunities and climate of the area are suitable for the new orchards to bear fruit in a short time.
