A new international bus route has been launched between Dushanbe and Tashkent, providing a comfortable travel option for passengers, the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan said.
The route is expected to make travel between the capitals of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan easier and create favorable conditions for tourists. The bus is equipped with sleeping accommodations for passengers.
From Tashkent, the bus departs Tuesdays and Fridays at 5 p.m. From Dushanbe, departures are Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1 p.m. Travel time ranges from 15 to 17 hours, with a stop in Sariosiyo, in Uzbekistan’s Surkhandarya region. A one-way ticket costs about 233 somoni (approximately 300,000 Uzbek soms). Additional services may be added in the future based on passenger demand.
The launch follows a bilateral agreement to restore bus traffic between major cities in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Signed by representatives of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan and the Automobile Transport Agency of Uzbekistan, the agreement previously established bus routes between Khujand and Tashkent, as well as Panjakent and Samarkand and Bukhara in 2021.
Officials said the new Tashkent-Dushanbe route is expected to strengthen cooperation between the neighboring countries.
