DUSHANBE, 26.03.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – During the state visit of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, to the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Heads of State — Emomali Rahmon and Shavkat Mirziyoyev — took part, via videoconference from the Kuksaroy Palace, in a ceremony marking the launch of construction and the inauguration of a number of joint facilities in both Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

With the consent and at the direction of the Heads of State, groundbreaking ceremonies were held for the commencement of construction at seven sites in Tajikistan. These include the expansion of a Artel household appliance production line, the construction of the “Shox Med” medical clinic in Dushanbe, the establishment of a textile cluster, the development of a modern fruit processing facility, the production of medical solutions, and the launch of furniture and industrial equipment manufacturing projects in the Sughd region.

During the ceremony, the Heads of State also authorized the launch and inauguration of a number of joint projects in Uzbekistan, including a milk processing and cheese production facility, a juice production plant, the naming of one of Tashkent’s new streets as “Dushanbe,” the construction of a modern multi-storey residential complex, and the establishment of canned goods production.

In total, 12 projects were officially launched within the framework of the ceremony. The total value of the seven projects in Tajikistan amounts to approximately 98 million US dollars, while the five projects in Uzbekistan are valued at 63.2 million US dollars.

It was noted that the implementation of these projects will contribute to the creation of new jobs for the population.
