CIS Officials Meet in Minsk to Prepare Upcoming Summits

Representatives of Commonwealth of Independent States member countries met in Minsk on March 31 to coordinate preparations for upcoming high-level meetings, Tajikistan’s embassy in Belarus said, citing Khovar news agency.
Participants drafted the agenda for the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government, scheduled for late May in Ashgabat, and discussed preparations for a meeting of CIS foreign ministers set for April 17 in Moscow.
The meeting reviewed the work of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General for 2020–2025, progress on implementing economic cooperation initiatives endorsed by CIS leaders, and the activities of sectoral cooperation bodies in 2025.
Participants also assessed implementation of the 2023–2025 action plan under a memorandum on deepening cooperation between the CIS Executive Committee and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Bakhtovar Safarzoda, Tajikistan’s permanent plenipotentiary representative to CIS bodies and ambassador to Belarus, briefed participants on the upcoming international conference on the “Water for Sustainable Development” decade, scheduled for May 25–28 in Dushanbe, and called for high-level participation from CIS countries.
