The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met in Beijing with Honorable Zou Jiayi, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).

At the meeting, current cooperation and prospects for mutually beneficial ties were discussed.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, highly commended the bank’s contribution to advancing important infrastructure projects in Tajikistan and expressed gratitude to its leadership for its continued support of our country’s sustainable development.

During the conversation, considerable attention was paid to expanding cooperation in infrastructure sectors such as energy, transport and road construction, water supply, digital and green technologies, and agriculture.

As noted, a number of important infrastructure projects are currently being implemented in Tajikistan, with the bank’s total financing amounting to USD 400 million.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a Long-Term Investment Plan was signed between Tajikistan and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, for which more than USD 800 million from the bank’s funds is planned to be allocated.
