On May 26, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Minister of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Honorable Abbas Aliabadi, who arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action, «Water for Sustainable Development, 2018–2028.»

During the meeting, issues related to the development of bilateral relations between the two countries were discussed.

The parties placed particular emphasis on expanding cooperation in the economic, industrial, energy, agricultural, road construction, and logistics sectors.

In this context, the importance of establishing joint ventures was noted, including in the mining, pharmaceutical, textile, cotton, wool, and leather processing industries.

Regarding the situation in the Middle East, it was noted that the problems that have arisen can only be resolved through diplomatic means and negotiations. In this regard, Tajikistan’s firm position on supporting the continuation of political efforts and constructive dialogue for the peaceful resolution of this and other conflicts was reaffirmed.
