On July 9, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, during a working trip to the cities and districts of the Sughd Province, launched the construction of a cement production plant in the city of Istaravshan and a lime plant in the Bobojon Ghafurov district.
Based on the instructions of the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, the Tajik Metallurgical Combine CJSC has decided to build and commission a cement production plant in the city of Istaravshan, Sughd Province, by 2029.
During the construction work, more than 1,200 local residents will be involved in seasonal work, and after the plant is put into operation, more than 850 new jobs will be created for local residents.
The design, supply, installation, commissioning, and production of all equipment will be carried out in accordance with the contract between the Tajik Metallurgical Plant and the SINOMA Company of the People’s Republic of China.
It should be noted that the SINOMA Company of the People’s Republic of China is the largest state-owned and international engineering corporation, which is part of the Great China National Building Materials Group.
Also, this company is one of the leading global service organizations in the field of cement technology, equipment, and engineering systems integration, a high-tech and innovative enterprise in China, and a laureate of the industry award.
Taking into account modern production technology and raw materials used, the cement produced by the enterprise fully complies with the requirements of international norms and standards, and environmental regulations and environmental safety are ensured in the production process.
The production capacity of the cement plant will be 1.2 million tons of cement per year, and the production process will consist of grinding to packaging the final result of the production of finished products.
The purpose of the construction of this enterprise is to increase cement production, ensure the abundance and affordability of this product in the domestic market, and create new jobs for the people. The construction of this enterprise is of great importance in today’s conditions, because in the Sughd Province, as in all regions of the country, the demand for cement has increased significantly with the increase in construction and development works and economic development.
Within the framework of the implementation of the state’s strategic goals in the direction of rapid industrial development and the implementation of the instructions and guidelines of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, another important production project is being implemented in the Sughd Province.
The Tajik Metallurgical Plant Closed Joint Stock Company has decided to build and operate a modern lime production plant in the Bobojon Ghafurov district, near the Safedsang lime deposit, by 2029.
According to the project, the new facility will be built on an area of 10 hectares, and its financing and operation will be carried out by the Tajik Metallurgical Plant CJSC itself. Within the framework of international cooperation, design, equipment supply, installation, and commissioning of production lines will be carried out under a contract with the reputable company SINOMA of the People’s Republic of China.
The annual capacity of the new lime production plant will be 200 thousand tons. Using modern technologies and high-quality raw materials, the products produced will meet the requirements of international standards and will be widely used in various industries.
At the same time, all production equipment will be selected in accordance with global standards, environmental protection, and production safety requirements, and during the operation of the plant, the issues of reducing environmental impact and efficient use of resources will be in the spotlight.
The implementation of this project will not only contribute to the development of the country’s production capacity, but also create a favorable basis for improving the employment level of the population. During the construction phase, more than 500 local residents will be involved in seasonal work. After the plant starts operating, more than 150 permanent jobs will be created.
The plant’s products will be used primarily to meet the domestic needs of the Tajik Metallurgical Plant, including in the iron production process. At the same time, the surplus lime can meet the needs of other industrial enterprises in the country and, in the future, be exported to foreign markets.
Officials believe that the implementation of this important industrial project can make a significant contribution to strengthening the country’s production capacity, developing the metallurgical industry, creating new jobs, and expanding Tajikistan’s export opportunities.
