On August 26, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new cement plant in Kushaniyon district, Khatlon Province.

The plant, which will be built in the village of Nurafshon, Bustonqala town, on an area of 30 hectares, will be an important step in strengthening the country’s production capacity and developing the construction materials industry.

This plant will be built by the Khutalon Cement Limited Liability Company by 2029.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, was informed that the production capacity of the plant is planned to be 1 million 200 thousand tons of cement per year.

Another advantage of the plant is that production is based on the use of local raw materials. The plant is located near the Qurghonteppa limestone deposit in Kushoniyon district, and the necessary raw materials are supplied from this region.

Also, coal will be transported from other mines of the republic to ensure the production process. According to the project, the enterprise will be provided with modern machinery and technology, devices and equipment, and other necessary production facilities, and environmental requirements and environmental safety standards will be taken into account in the process of its operation.

The enterprise will also create a favorable basis for the development of the labor market and the improvement of the social level of the population, since during its construction more than 1,000 local residents will be involved in temporary work. After the enterprise is put into operation, more than 700 permanent jobs will be created.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, highly appreciated the initiative of entrepreneurs and emphasized that the construction of such production enterprises is a logical continuation of the country’s rapid industrialization policy, contributing to an increase in the volume of domestic production, the efficient use of natural resources, the creation of new jobs, and the economic development of regions.

According to the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, on the eve of the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the start of the construction of this enterprise is a reflection of the continuation of the process of construction and innovation in the country.

It should be noted that along with the commissioning of the new production capacity, the position of the Kushoniyon district as a region with great industrial potential will be further strengthened, and domestic cement production will increase.

Thus, the construction of a new cement production enterprise is the beginning of the implementation of an important industrial project, which is generally aimed at strengthening the country’s production capacity, developing the national economy, and creating new employment opportunities for the population.

Within the framework of the working visit of the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon to Khatlon Province, 60 facilities in various socio-economic sectors were put into operation in the cities and districts of Yovon, Khuroson, Kushoniyon, and Levakant.

Besides 13 educational institutions with 9,060 seats, also 4 preschool institutions for 1,120 children and 1 early childhood development center for 96 children were opened remotely.

12 industrial enterprises with 411 jobs were built by enterprising entrepreneurs, and 110 km of roads of local and republican importance were asphalted.

Also, the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a cement industrial enterprise with 700 jobs, which should operate entirely with local raw materials.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, was presented with the projects of 3 other facilities that will be built by domestic entrepreneurs.
