Pakistan Culture Days will be held in Tajikistan in 2027, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Irfan Ahmed announced Aug. 27 during a meeting with representatives of Tajikistan’s state media in Dushanbe.

The ambassador said the event is part of cultural cooperation between the two countries and aims to introduce the people of Tajikistan to Pakistan’s culture, art and literature.

He noted that the peoples of Tajikistan and Pakistan have shared historical, cultural and civilizational ties for centuries. Many Pakistani poets write in Persian, and scholars and literary figures from Pakistan are expected to participate in the event and present their works.

The ambassador also highlighted the popularity in Tajikistan of renowned Persian-language poets from Pakistan, including Allama Muhammad Iqbal Lahori and Faiz Ahmad Faiz, saying the study of their literary heritage remains an important part of bilateral cultural and academic relations.

The program is expected to include exhibitions of traditional handicrafts, musical and cultural performances, presentations of national literature and art, and meetings between cultural and literary figures from Tajikistan and Pakistan.

The event is expected to strengthen cultural ties and friendship between the two countries, promote national artistic heritage and support cultural diplomacy.
