As part of his continued working visit to Rasht district, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, visited the Payvandi Rasht intensive orchard.

President Emomali Rahmon was informed that the intensive orchard had been established on an area of 10 hectares and that the entire orchard is irrigated through a drip irrigation system.

The orchard cultivates 18 varieties of fruit trees, including 8 varieties of apples, 6 varieties of pears, 2 varieties of plums, and 2 varieties of apricots.

It was reported that a good harvest had been obtained this year, with the total volume of fruit collected exceeding 100 tons.

During the harvest season, more than 30 local residents are engaged in seasonal work.

The establishment of intensive orchards and the use of modern irrigation methods create favorable conditions for increasing agricultural production, making efficient use of land, and supplying the market with high-quality domestic fruits and agricultural products.

An exhibition of agricultural products was organized in one section of the Payvandi Rasht intensive orchard, where the produce of farmers and agricultural workers of the district was presented.

The exhibition featured various types of fresh fruit, including apples, pears, plums, and apricots, as well as other agricultural products.

President Emomali Rahmon was informed that agricultural production in the district has been increasing year by year through the effective use of existing resources and fertile lands, thereby creating favorable conditions for supplying the domestic market with high-quality locally produced goods.

President Emomali Rahmon toured the agricultural products exhibition and familiarized himself with the displayed products and the achievements of the region’s farmers. He gave specific instructions to the responsible officials to further develop agricultural activities and, by making effective use of the region’s abundant potential, increase the contribution of the districts of the Rasht Valley to ensuring the country’s food security and strengthening its export potential.
